Food and health: courgettes

Summer brings with it the arrival of fruits and vegetables that fill our dishes with colors and flavours. One of them is the courgette, a vegetable native to South America which over the years has spread all over the world and is used in the preparation of numerous recipes.

A vegetable with a bright color and a delicate flavour, the courgette rich in beneficial substances for our body such as vitamins and mineral salts.

Zucchini are great sources of potassium which allow the regulation of fluids in our body. Among the mineral salts we also mention magnesium , calcium, iron and phosphorus.

Thanks to the presence of vitamin A,  they help to counteract aging and vitamin E proves useful in protecting our body from free radicals. Zucchini are also rich in vitamins B and C.

folic acid on the other hand has the property to aid digestion.

The consumption of zucchini also helps to counteract inflammation of the urinary tract and intestinal problems such as diarrhea and constipation.

Being a food made up of more than 90% water and low in fat, it is suitable for all types of food. often the basis of food diets .

Eating zucchini is not a good idea. only useful for our body, but also for our mind: in fact they help to promote sleep by relaxing the mind and are very useful in times of exhaustion.

There are several varieties on the market; of courgettes which are used, during the summer, in the preparation of numerous cold dishes such as spelled salads and strong> cous cous , but we also often find them as a side dish cooked on the grill, steamed or sautéed in a pan.
